Walking the Wicklow Way
|
This is a compact, pocket-sized guidebook to the Wicklow Way, written by prolific walker Paddy Dillon. The boook is 112 pages long with plenty of full-colour photographs.
The map data used in the book are sourced through OpenStreetMaps and are drawn to a scale of 1:50,000. The trail description is broken into seven stages, with each of these sections in the book containing several map snippets. There is also an ascent profile graphic at the start to each chapter.
Perhaps the most unique aspect to this guidebook over the others is the inclusion of alternative routes to the main Wicklow Way. Some of these variants lead to more scenic vistas of the Wicklow Mountains or simply just detours to avail of services and supplies at local villages.
