New Shelter at Mucklagh on the Wicklow Way

Over the weekend of the 18 & 19th June, Mountain Meitheal and Glenwalk members assembled an Adirondack type hut at Mucklagh, near Aughavannagh.

The hut was prefabricated by Mountain Meitheal over two weekends in May in the Coillte facility in Glenealy and transported in sections to Mucklagh.

The shelter is the third in the series along the Wicklow Way and may be used by those walking the Way as an overnight shelter. The other shelters are located at Mullacor (Glenmalure) and Brusher's Gap (Paddock hill).

The project was funded by Glenwalk and erected under permit from Coillte. The grid reference for the hut is T 074 861.
