Derryview Farm is located on the lower slopes of Ballycumber Hill, around 2km to the North-East of Tinahely. The Wicklow Way passes through some of the 70 acres of land belonging to the farm. There is direct access to the house from the trail. The 100m shortcut across a field saves a ½km hike up the lane to the main entrance of the farm.
There are two houses, separated by a quiet country lane, which provide accommodation at Derryview Farm.
The first property is the family home of the hosts, the Dillons. This is a modern dormer bungalow and has two guest bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double and single bed with an ensuite. The second bedroom is a twin room which uses the shared bathroom. Alternatively, when a family books both bedrooms, it is possible to open the access to the interconnecting ensuite for the use of both rooms.
There is a dining room / TV lounge available for guests to use and relax in during the evenings.
The second property is the Dillon's ancestral home. The cottage has recently been renovated and adds a further two guest bedrooms to the main B&B. The main bedroom has a double bed and an ensuite with a shower. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom and a single bed on the top and uses the shared bathroom.
The cottage is perfectly suited for a group of 4-5 people to either let out on a self-catering basis or it can include breakfast in the main house. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a hob cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dish-washer as well as all the required pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
Guests are welcome to order a take-away to be delivered to the house and either eat their dinner inside in the kitchen or else on the picnic table outside, whilst enjoying the views across the Derry River. Alternatively, a lift can be organised to/from Tinahely for dining out in one of the restaurants there.
