Ashlawn is situated on the quiet Sally Gap L1036 road, 1.5km outside Roundwood (half-way between Anna Carter Crossroads and the village) and has beautiful views towards Djouce Mountain to the north.
Ashlawn is well-placed for Wicklow Way walkers, being located between the trail and the village itself. Free lift to the centre of Roundwood is offered to walkers eating out. There are several pubs, bistros and take-aways that serve food in Roundwood as well as a late-closing shop and a pharmacy.
There are several short walks in the area to warrant spending a second day at Ashlawn; two Slí na Sláinte trails; one in nearby Ballinastoe Woods and the other around the Lower Vartry Reservoir. Closer to Ashlawn is Victoria's Way, the fascinating spiritual sculpture garden with a large collection of granite monuments of the Hindu deity Ganesh.
Check-in to Ashlawn B&B is after 15.30. Guests will be welcomed with complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival. Luggage transfer to the next accommodation on the Wicklow Way can be organised.
