Laragh
Located at the junction of the four principal motor routes through Co. Wicklow, Laragh is right in the heart of the uplands. Its proximity to Glendalough makes it a relatively busy village. The northern approach from The Wicklow Way is along The Military Road, built at the beginning of the 19th century to enable the English Military powers to maintain order after the rebellion of 1798.
A very successful fortnightly Organic produce market takes place at the Brockagh Resource Centre.
The St. Kevins Bus Company operates a twice-daily service to/from Dublin.

Glendalough
Glendalough is the historical heartland of the entire upland area where the extensive ruined remnants of the medieval monastic city founded by St Kevin in the 6th century are located. The round tower is 110ft in height and the immediate surrounds contain the remains of many of the early churches. The Visitor Centre located on the trail is well worth visiting as it provides much information about the entire area.
