Moyne is best known in a Wicklow Way context as the southern terminus of the Wicklow Way walking route originally planned by J.B. Malone in 1966. It is a picturesque Georgian hamlet located within 2km of the village of Knockananna, where essential provisions are available in the local shop.
Moyne’s location a little over half way from Glenmalure to Tinahely makes it a popular stop-over point, a fact mentioned in several publications. There are just two small guest houses in the area, both offering evening meals. Because of the lack of alternative local accommodation advance reservation is essential.
