Wicklow Mountains West
|
EastWest Mapping has produced a series of maps on Wicklow with an emphasis on traditional place names which illustrate many features and locations within the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains. These references are in contrast to the more commonly known names that were documented by the British in the 1840's and are currently used by the Ordnance Survey of Ireland.
The map is drawn to a scale of 1:30,000 with the contours spaced 20m apart. It is printed on Pretex 120 gsm paper which is both water and tear resistant.
Over 20km of the Wicklow Way is featured on this map. Starting from the shoulder of White Hill above Ballinastoe (6km north-west of Roundwood) it continues as far as the lower slopes of Derrybawn (2km south-west of Glendalough).
Saint Kevin's Way is another popular long-distance trail in Wicklow. Starting in the west of the county at Hollywood, it crosses the Wicklow Gap and finishes in Glendalough. The entire 30km of this pilgrim path is outlined on this map.
