24th July 2011. Work continues at Knockree, repairing a section of the Wicklow Way which is seriously eroded. The work will include the construction of stone steps, log steps, water bars and bench cutting. If you are a not a regular volunteer then why not come along and give it a try?
20th July 2011. Bats are misunderstood creatures that often inspire fear or horror. In reality, they are fascinating, harmless, and really rather sweet. The attic of the Information Office is a maternity roost for a large colony of Pipistrelle bats, and we shall watch them emerge at dusk, before heading off on a stroll to see some other species.
16th July 2011. Did you know that Ireland has 33 species of butterfly? Unlike many of our invertebrate species, butterflies are easy to identify and with a little bit of effort, anyone can become competent at telling their Peacocks from their Tortoiseshells.
