Walk the Line

The Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team is holding a major event on the weekend of 25th and 26th June and I would like to invite you, your friends and family to take part in what will be a great occasion in the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains

All are welcome to partake in a hill walk along a section of the Dublin-Wicklow border line (hence the title "Walk the Line"). The course is approximately 30km long and can be partially or entirely done at your own speed and could be completed by any hill walker of average fitness. The purpose of the event is to 1) organise a fun challenge event for the public who support us and 2) to raise funds for vital equipment that we require in order to continue and improve our service in the mountains. You can use this event as a great way to get fit, focus on a personal challenge or simply to donate directly to the team and contribute back to our community.

The Dublin & Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team is a voluntary 112/999 rescue service, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, responding to those who find themselves lost and or injured in the mountains. As grant aid is currently reduced, the Walk the Line event is vital to raise enough funds this year to enable the team to not only maintain but improve its high level emergency service which is provided on an entirely voluntary basis. Fundraising is a constant challenge for the team and we are looking to this event to generate significant funding for the team this year. Any help you can give is sincerely appreciated by the team and the casualties we help.
