Irish Wildflower Walk
Wild Garlic

In these modern times, generations of people are growing up with no knowledge of wildflowers. Come on a gentle stroll and learn how to identify some of our April wildflowers, and a little bit about their ecology and folklore. Due to popular demand, we are offering this walk twice - once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

A small example of flowers would inculde: wood sorrel, lesser celendine, wood anemone, opposite leaved golden saxifrage, cuckoo flower, herb Robert, primrose, dog violet, wild garlic, greater stitchwort and bilberry.

Location: Information Office by the Upper Lake, Glendalough.

Practicalities: This walk is for adults only. No dogs. Each walk last 1-2 hours, but we shall be strolling at a very gentle pace and not venturing very far.

Charge: This event is free of charge, but please be aware that the Upper Lake car park (Wicklow Co. Council) has a €4 charge.

Booking: This event is free of charge but booking is essential. Each walk is limited to 15 places. To book, please phone 0404 45656 (Mon to Fri) or 0404 45425 (Sat & Sun). Bookings will be taken from Saturday, 2nd April.
