Your Donation to Mountain Rescue Ireland

Mountain Rescue Ireland would like to thank all of the customers on the Dingle, Kerry and Wicklow Way websites over the last 8 months for their part in helping to raise nearly €450 for this registered charity. Ireland is one of the few countries in the world where Mountain Rescue is still run on a voluntary basis. The main funding for their operations comes from voluntary donations.

WicklowWay.com is one in a series of 'Trailhead' websites that has formed an alliance with Mountain Rescue Ireland in July 2010. Since then it has been putting aside 7.5% from every purchase made through these website towards this worthiest of causes. We recognise the essential role that Mountain Rescue has to play for not only those on the Wicklow Way but everyone hill-walking throughout the entire country. The first official donation of €443.12 was handed over to Mountain Rescue Ireland on the 26th of March 2011 and we hope that in the coming year we can continue to help provide vital funds for the organisation.
