Wicklow Way Bus has now added the village of Tinahely as a destination on their 2010 timetable. This is the second route which now operates to coincide with trains from Dublin arriving at Rathdrum Train Station. This service now makes it possible to do three individual days of the Wicklow Way as day excursions.
The Wicklow Way Bus service was launched last summer in response to the need for a flexible transport link directly to the central part of the Wicklow Way. The first bus route linked Rathdrum to Laragh, Glendalough and Glenmalure. The new separate bus service will also serve Tinahely and the Iron Bridge, near Aughavannagh.
The three suggested day walks to tie in with the bus route to Rathdrum Train Station are from Glendalough to Glenmalure, Glenmalure to Iron Bridge and from Iron Bridge to Tinahely. Buses must be pre-booked for the service to operate.
