Brown's Lane damaged by floodwaters

The tarred laneway (Brown's Lane) that leads from Coolafunshoge down to the bridge and main road northwest of Tinahely was very badly damaged due to recent weather conditions. There are ruts of around 2 meters along this section. The grid reference for the lane is approximately T 021744. Wicklow County Council are advising people that this section of the Wicklow Way is unsafe and they are working on repairs at the moment.

It is likely that other laneways, forest roads and upland trails have been damaged by the floodwaters on the night of Friday, 15th January 2010. Walkers should exercise particular care at this time and be patient as repair work is likely to take many weeks and possibly months in some places.
