The informal camp site is on the grounds of Lugnaquillia View Guest House. As most of the land on the southern end of the Wicklow Way is private farmland, the origins for this camp site have arisen because the uncertainty of hikers as to where it is permissable to pitch a tent. Lugnaquillia View have allocated a space at the bottom of their garden for camping in answer to this request.
Campers are most welcome to pitch their tent and use the shower facilities in the house and also have the option to join other guests for meals in the dining room. Alternatively, there is a sheltered area for cooking food, once campers have their own pots and stoves. The camping area is out of view from the main house and a fireside area helps provide more of a wilderness feel to the whole experience.
Fantastic views on the Northern horizon over the whole Lugnaquilla mountain range are the crowning moment for the stay at the camp site.
The price for the camp site with full access to toilet and shower facilities is €10 per person per night.
