After opening in 2009, Lake House is one of the more modern places to stay when walking the Wicklow Way. An appreciation for the environment can be seen throughout the bed and breakfast, from the wooded construct of the building with its solar panels right down to the eco-friendly cleaning products that are used.
Lake House is situated on an elevated position on Diamond Hill with all bedrooms looking out across the Vartry Reservoir. Each guest bedroom has it's own direct access to a seating area outside in which to fully enjoy the view. Those who book the penthouse bedroom can look forward to an en-suite with a jacuzzi and their own private rooftop area.
Lake House is happy to collect walkers from the Wicklow Way. Visitors from mainland Europe can take comfort that in addition to English, other languages that are fluently spoken in the house are French, German and a little Spanish. This is a great opportunity for Irish people to practice their own foreign language skills!
Walkers can be collected from the Wicklow Way but advance notice must be given beforehand to organise this.
