Ashlawn is situated on the quiet Sally Gap road, 1.5km outside Roundwood (half-way between Anna Carter Crossroads and the village) and has beautiful views towards Djouce Mountain to the north.
Ashlawn is well-placed for Wicklow Way walkers, being located between the trail and the village itself. Free transport to the the centre of is offered to walkers who wish to have dinner. Complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits/cake are offered on arrival to Ashlawn B&B.
There are several short walks in the area to warrant spending a second day at Ashlawn; two Slí na Sláinte trails; one in nearby Ballinastoe Woods and the other around the Lower Vartry Reservoir. Closer to Ashlawn is Victoria's Way, the fascinating spiritual sculpture garden with a large collection of granite monuments of the Hindu deity Ganesh.
