Kyle Bunkhouse is a new option for budget accommodation on the Wicklow Way. It is within the grounds of Kyle Farmhouse and is adjacent to the main house. The Bunkhouse provides basic needs for accommodation with six beds in an old traditional style Irish cottage. There is access to bath and showering facilities in the toilet of the main farmhouse.
There is no self-catering kitchen in the bunkhouse but breakfast, a packed lunch and dinner can all be ordered in Kyle Farmhouse next door. Alternatively, a gas barbeque can be made available to guests if they would like cook in the garden. A laundry service is also available to guests who would like to get their clothes washed and dried.
A camping field close to the main entrance can also be made available to backpackers on the Wicklow Way. Although there is no charge for this, campers can contribute a little something back by ordering breakfast or a packed lunch at the house.
Walkers looking to take a day off from the Wicklow Way can explore one of the Tinahely Loop Walks. The Kyle Loop is the most immediate of these walks as it passes Kyle Farmhouse on the way up Ballycumber Hill. This 16km trail takes around 5 hours to walk and provides outstanding views of Lugnaquillia to the north.
