Woodside is situated facing directly towards the Wicklow Mountains and is surrounded by beautiful countryside and overlooking the Avonbeg River. Stroll over to the legendary local "watering-hole", Byrne’s of Greenan and enjoy a country pint in one of those "pubs from the past", now all too rare in these busy modern times. A pint in Byrne’s is a pint not to be missed!
Woodside offers Wicklow Way walkers lifts from and to Glenmalure, and also to Rathdrum for topping-up on shopping supplies and accessing ATM banking.
Guests who spend extra time here have a choice activities on the doorstep. Ballinacor and Croaghanmoira mountain are close by and provide good mountain walking for the navigationally competent. Alternatively, a gentle stroll to Greenan Farm Museum and Maze, offers nature trails and an educational farm museum. Avondale House and Forest Park are also close-by, just outside Rathdrum.
